I grew up on a farm in the coal country of Pennsylvania and went off to college in the big city of Pittsburgh. It took weeks to get used to the sirens, traffic noises , and lights outside the dorm. Graduated, married, and moved to Virginia. I taught in the public school system for 37 years in Virginia and also for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools. My husband, Jim, and I have two adult daughters and 4 grandchildren. I knew when I retired from teaching I would need something else. I just can't sit still for very long. I earned my Realtor's license a few years before I retired from teaching and now have a successful 2nd career. The skills I developed teaching have been very useful in Real Estate......reading, researching, planning, implementing, and follow-up are all key pieces in a successful sale. The most important skill, however, is listening. Be sure that I will listen to you to achieve the best fit for you in any transaction.
